Principal's message

I’d like to warmly welcome you to Glenfield Public School. Glenfield Public School was established in 1882 and serves a school community of 441 students from 43 different nationalities. Many generations of families have attended the school over its lifetime. The school is held in high regard within the community.

Our school motto, "Strive to Achieve", encapsulates the ethos of our school as we all focus on school and individual improvement by catering to the diverse educational needs of all students, through the application of quality teaching principles. Glenfield Public School enjoys an outstanding reputation in the broader community. We have a dedicated and dynamic staff and enthusiastic students who work alongside a supportive community.

Our school's positive student welfare programs are designed to equip students with the skills to succeed in a changing and at times, challenging world. Our experienced teachers are committed to preparing students for new and changing technologies, as well as fostering a strong community spirit. As such, the enhancement of engaging classrooms through the use of technology such as interactive whiteboards and connected classrooms, is a high priority in supporting student learning in the 21st century.

We cater to individual student needs by applying a differentiated curriculum and providing extension or remediation, as required, ensuring students take personal responsibility for their own learning and behaviour and build on the school's expectations of being safe, respectful, learners.

Glenfield Public School provides a variety of extra-curricular activities including the Student Representative Council (SRC), PSSA gala days, drawing club, choir, dance groups, debating and coding club.

A supportive and hard working Parents and Citizens (P&C) organisation make valued contributions to the school. The amazing fundraising efforts result in supplementary resourcing of educational programs including Mathletics and purchasing of educational resources for our school, benefiting each and every student. They run healthy breakfasts for all students before each P&C meeting. We actively encourage parental support at our school which helps create a harmonious environment.

We look forward to working in partnership with you to meet the educational and social needs of your child and to share with you the many special moments throughout this journey.
